About
Now in her twenties, Anne returns to Avonlea for the first time since Marilla Cuthbert's death. Gilbert has been offered a staff position at a hospital in New York and persuades Anne to come, as he has arranged a position for her at a large publishing house. Anne and Gilbert experience life in the big city, assist the war effort in Europe and eventually return to Prince Edward Island.
